“Cleaning!” I perked up. “I love cleaning!”

“Yeah. I can tell.”

“Where are you cleaning?” I asked.

“On my level,” he responded. Deflated, I lowered my shoulders and pouted. “I will be here for a few hours until then. We can train together before I leave.”

“Cool. Let’s race again.”

“Iseya!” My name was called, and I looked behind to Mike that had a broadened grin plastered on his face. “Can we go somewhere and talk about things?”

Stiffly, I nodded and walked over to Mike while I felt those intense green eyes watch my every move. Right now, I was also thinking of my every move. I didn’t want to look suspicious, but Mike already blew that, so I just made this look a whole lot worse to everyone who saw. We were shady, suspicious people. He looked overly joyed, with that fake, everything is okay, a grin on his face, and mine felt like stone, and I tried not to make an expression.

We decided to go into my room, for Mike really wanted privacy and for no one to see or hear us. That worried me further, and when he walked in, I stood before the door, ready to run if he spat out nonsense that was on my bracelet. If he wanted privacy, obviously he wanted to tell me what he heard or saw or read that could ruin my time in Paradise, Eden. The thought made me break out into a cold sweat, and I fidgeted as my mind reeled with possibilities.

“It works,” Mike announced. “But the bracelet only lights up. The buttons won’t work, and I have tried everything, but the thing won’t open. I even used clamps and a thin knife, but there’s no insert that would make me open it. But it did light up after I touched it correctly. Here.” He held up my bracelet, and I stepped closer. He touched and dragged his finger across two inches and the blue square, triangle and circle lit up. He tapped, but nothing happened. “It may go by fingerprint. Here. Put it on and use it.”

I nodded, grabbed the bracelet and put it on my right hand. Suddenly, the large bracelet slimmed, and wrapped around my wrist firmly, but not too tightly. Surprised, I stepped back in astonishment while Mike, wide-eyed, moved forward with interest. He even rambled that he had never seen any device turn into a custom fit before and demanded that I should push the buttons to see if it works. Eager, I tapped the circle, knowing that one was a map. A holographic screen blinked up, and an entire map with 3D buildings was shown and moved across until Paradise, Eden towered before us both. Then, in green writing, across the map, it said, ‘Located.’ So, I guess that means the map located Paradise, Eden. However, the map changed. It twisted and blurred to show a red flashing dot. No, two red flashing dots were on polar sides of each other and far apart. A green light on either red dot announced, ‘Located,’ and I became suspicious.
